MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

$$$ Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment in a food manufacturing facility. The technician works closely with the Maintenance and Production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently while following company safety, sanitation, and food-safety procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment. Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical equipment problems. Repair or replace belts, bearings, chains, motors, sensors, valves, and other components. Maintain and repair conveyors and other production-line equipment. Use basic electrical testing equipment, including a multimeter. Assist with troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. Follow equipment manuals, work instructions, and established maintenance procedures. Respond to production equipment breakdowns and make repairs as directed. Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and equipment projects. Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs. Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and all plant safety procedures. Follow GMP, sanitation, and food-safety requirements. Work with Production and Sanitation teams to resolve equipment problems. Report unsafe equipment conditions and recurring problems to the Maintenance Supervisor. Perform other maintenance duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Maintenance or mechanical experience preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Basic understanding of motors, bearings, belts, conveyors, and sensors. Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools. Ability to use a multimeter and other basic maintenance tools. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work safely in a production environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Technical school, industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related training. PLC troubleshooting experience. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience working in a food, beverage, meat, dairy, or other sanitary manufacturing environment. Experience with CMMS/work-order systems. Knowledge of USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP, or other food-manufacturing requirements. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated areas. Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment as required. Ability to work around noise, heat, cold, water, chemicals, and food-processing equipment. Ability to wear required PPE and follow plant sanitation requirements. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment. Work Schedule This position may require shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency/on-call response based on production and maintenance requirements. Safety and Food Safety The Maintenance Technician is expected to maintain the highest standards of employee safety, equipment safety, sanitation, and food safety. All work must be performed in accordance with company policies, applicable regulations, and established plant procedures.
