Overview The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production and facility equipment by performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks. Depending on experience level, technicians will handle routine inspections, complex troubleshooting, and mentoring of junior staff. Duties Key Responsibilities Core Duties (All Levels): Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Perform equipment inspections, identifying potential issues before failures occur. Troubleshoot problems on motors, conveyors, robots, compressors, chillers, and automated machinery. Record maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS system. Support safety initiatives by following and promoting company safety policies. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine uptime. Participate in on-call rotations or overtime shifts when required. Level 2 -
Intermediate Technician:
Perform independent corrective and preventive maintenance tasks. Diagnose moderate issues with mechanical and electrical equipment. Calibrate and adjust equipment to restore optimal operation. Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades. Support spare parts and inventory requests. Provide guidance to junior technicians.
Performance Expectations:
Consistently resolve breakdowns within target MTTR. Execute preventive maintenance with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to support multiple areas (mechanical/electrical). Qualifications Minimum (All Levels): High school diploma or technical training in Maintenance, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, or related field. Knowledge of health & safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Level-specific Requirements:
Level 2 (Intermediate): 2-5 years of experience; hands-on troubleshooting skills; ability to work independently. Preferred Skills (All Levels): Familiarity with CMMS software (Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance schedules). Basic to advanced PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Siemens). Experience with conveyors, robots, chillers, compressors, or packaging equipment. Welding, machining, or fabrication skills (a plus). Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in certain locations.
Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
