Job Description
Overview:
The Countertop Measure Technician is responsible for conducting visits to customers homes or job sites to take precise measurements for countertop fabrication; become the critical link between the sales process and the fabrication/installation teams, ensuring that every project starts with accurate data and excellent customer communication.Responsibilities:
Travel to residential and commercial job sites to perform accurate field measurements for countertops (granite, quartz, solid surface, etc.) Use digital measuring tools (e.g., laser templating systems) and/or manual methods to capture dimensions. Evaluate site conditions, cabinet layout, backsplash requirements, and other installation factors. Identify potential installation issues and communicate them to the Field Manager or countertop shop. Create detailed templates or digital files for use in fabrication. Communicate with customers professionally and clearly explain the templating process if correction notices are needed. Ensure all customer specifications, cutouts, edge profiles, and material details are accurately documented. Upload measurement files and complete necessary paperwork or digital entries in company systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked company vehicle. Follow safety protocols at all times while on-site.Skills:
Prior experience in countertop measuring, construction, cabinetry, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with laser templating equipment (e.g., LT-55, Prodim, or similar) is a plus. Strong math and spatial reasoning skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or construction plans. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working independently and managing a daily schedule. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
