Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

Best Western Plus Tree House is seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, light electrical equipment, plumbing, HVAC units, pool, and other facilities equipment. Your leadership and technical expertise will help create a safe, functional, and inviting environment for our guests and staff alike. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, hand tools, and other diagnostic devices. Conduct light welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and mechanical repairs to maintain the hotel's aesthetic and structural integrity. Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and building interior fixtures. Supervise maintenance tasks performed by contractors, providing guidance on safety procedures and technical standards. Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately; document repairs and maintenance activities thoroughly. Maintain onsite Pool and Spa. Lead safety initiatives related to electrical work, plumbing repairs, welding projects, or other maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations within a hospitality or residential environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, welding, carpentry, and painting. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical equipment repair, and maintenance painting techniques is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills; use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters; interpret technical schematics effectively. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of supervising team members while providing clear instructions. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising maintenance staff or contractors; ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Knowledge of facilities equipment maintenance standards including MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) practices. Physical ability to perform manual tasks requiring standing, climbing ladders or scaffolding; comfortable working in various environmental conditions. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
