We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated part-time Shift Engineer, two to three days a week to join our Engineering team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and functionality of our property's guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded technical skillset, specializing in landscaping, irrigation, and drip system maintenance, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting. The hourly wage we reasonably expect to pay for this position is $25.00-$30.00.Why Work With Us:

The Shift Engineer I will be responsible for swing shift, night and weekend coverage, therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. The candidate should possess basic knowledge of equipment located in the back-of-house areas including pool, kitchen, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as painting and staining. A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems, is required for this position. Good communication skills are necessary. This position will also be responsible for routine landscaping duties, and irrigation valve and drip system maintenance one to two days a week. Previous landscaping experience is required.Responsibilities also include:
Responsible for maintaining the property's landscape areas and routine maintenance/troubleshooting with irrigation and drip systems Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and operational areas Conduct regular inspections and ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently Complete all maintenance requests, work orders, and HotSOS tickets promptly and to Forbes standards Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Support the Engineering team in preventative maintenance programs and special projects Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and Hyatt standards Collaborate cross-departmentally to maintain a seamless guest experience Adhere to Hyatt's Core Values while maintaining a positive, guest-focused attitude Play PausePlay 00:00 02:44 UnmuteMute Disable captionsEnable captions Settings CaptionsDisabled Qualitydefault SpeedNormal Captions Quality Speed 0.5× 0.75× Normal 1.25× 1.5× 1.75× 2× Exit fullscreenEnter fullscreen Qualifications Minimum 1 year of building maintenance experience in hospitality or a related field preferred Minimum 1 year of landscaping experience required Painting and staining skillset required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Prior hotel or resort experience preferred Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics preferred Basic computer proficiency, including Windows-based systems and mobile work order applications Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently Flexible scheduling with the availability to work swing shift, nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods (entire shift) and move throughout the property both inside and outside in varied environmental conditions, frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds as needed, 150 pounds assisted Frequent use of computer systems, phones, tablets, radios, and standard office equipment Must be able to work in a front-of-house environment with guest interactionCareer Insights for Building and General Maintenance Technician
