Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic, under limited supervision, plans and performs assigned preventive maintenance and work on all plant and building equipment to ensure productive and efficient plant operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Maintains logs and written records of PM programs and accurately records all parts replaced.
  • Do maintenance of particular zones.
  • Control time & quality of work thru daily work records.
  • Inspects disassembled or malfunctioning machinery to determine cause of trouble and type of repairs required.
  • Inspects and observes progress of work on major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and workmanship.
  • Maintain required safety procedures as they pertain to equipment and its use.
  • Learn in proper techniques and procedures of maintenance of all types of equipment.
  • Performs other tasks and special duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • 2+ years related experience in a similar environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines
  • Boiler experience a plus
  • Blue prints and schematics
  • Strong electronics/electrical systems understanding
  • Computer control skills
  • Previous experience guiding maintenance helpers or similar staff
  • Excellent record keeping, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with superiors, co-workers and subordinates
  • Bilingual a plus
