Job Summary:

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is seeking a Maintenance Ropeway Technician

•Aerial Tramway to assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, utility, and ropeway systems. This entry-level position includes extensive on-the-job training and the opportunity to grow within a highly specialized field.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform ropeway cable maintenance (cleaning, socketing, splicing, etc.) Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on tramway systems and facility equipment Assist in the setup, calibration, and operation of machinery Respond to mechanical/electrical issues using manufacturer guidelines Operate heavy and specialized equipment (e.g., bobcats, excavators, winches) Complete and maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs Maintain work areas, tools, and supplies in an organized and safe condition Assist contractors or vendors during specialized repair or upgrade projects Follow safety protocols and comply with ANSI B77 and CA Title 8

Tramway Safety Orders Physical Requirements:

Frequently lift, push or pull to 75 lbs.; climb towers/ladders up to 200 ft. Work at heights over 600 ft., including standing on beams/platforms Work in all weather conditions and varied terrain Wear safety harnesses and participate in emergency evacuation drills

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED (required) 1+ year of maintenance experience in ski lift, tramway, or industrial environment (preferred) Technical school or trade background in mechanical or electrical Valid California Driver's License Ability to work various shifts, between 5:00 am

•10:00 pm, seven days a week, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.

Skills & Abilities:

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fabrication work Ability to read technical diagrams and follow written/verbal instructions Familiarity with motors, relays, PLCs, sensors, and power tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to use maintenance software and basic computer programs (Word, Excel).
