Job Description

Essential Functions An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Troubleshoots complex problems with production equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious by identifying and repairing equipment failures in systems and subsystems, including the use of hand tools, DVOM, specialized test equipment and technical documentation (for example, schematics, 2-wire drawings, parts manuals). Performs repairs on complex equipment (for example, lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, printing presses and equipment, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) by following procedures; reading and understanding technical drawings (for example, blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment; completing work orders, records, logs and other written or computer-based documents; and assisting other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment. Changes industrial batteries for all types of power equipment by removing and replacing battery retention plates. Communicates with (or to) individuals or groups (for example, customers, suppliers, associates) by using verbal and/or written communication . Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.   • Maintains, repairs, and conducts preventative maintenance on various format types of print industry manufacturing equipment in safe ways to ensure OEM specifications are attained, achieving industry G7 delta tolerances.
Repairs items in a timely manner and utilizes established repair policies and procedures. Tells management about dirty and harmful working conditions and unsafe practices. Tells management when tools and supplies required for performing repairs on DC equipment are unavailable or broken. Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to perform work (e.g., record work history, identify parts usage, identify warranties) in a timely and effective manner.
