We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to help maintain an 180-unit apartment community in Redding, CA . This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and values creating a safe and well-maintained environment for residents. Experience with general building maintenance and landscaping is preferred, and experience with affordable housing programs (HUD, LIHTC, or RD) is a plus. What You'll Do As the Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure the property is well maintained, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.Key responsibilities include:
Completing maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner Performing general maintenance tasks including painting, cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs Assisting with preventative maintenance to ensure building systems remain in good working condition Maintaining the grounds and landscaping to support strong curb appeal Assisting with annual apartment inspections and identifying maintenance needs Working with the Property Manager to coordinate vendors and order supplies Maintaining positive relationships with residents, vendors, and staff Reporting lease or house rule violations when observed Responding appropriately to emergency maintenance situations Following company policies and procedures What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining high property standards. Qualifications & Skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact positively with residents, vendors, and team members Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Computer literacy (Outlook, Teams, Work Order Ticketing System) Professionalism and strong listening skills Experience with subsidized housing programs (HUD, LIHTC, or RD) is helpful General building maintenance skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting General groundskeeping and landscaping experience Basic Requirements Reliable transportation Authorized to work in the United States Access to a personal smartphone with email, messaging, and app functionality (usage reimbursed) Valid driver's license required This position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle as an essential function of the job.
