Summary We are seeking a hands-on, safety-minded Line Maintenance Technician to take primary ownership of the day-to-day technical condition, maintenance execution, reliability improvement, and maintenance documentation for Line 01. The Line Maintenance Technician serves as the line's primary technical resource and works with a high degree of autonomy within established Company procedures, safety requirements, food-safety and quality standards, maintenance priorities, and delegated authority. The position provides technical leadership, work direction, hands-on coaching, and skill development to Production Operators and Maintenance Operators. The Line Maintenance Technician partners with the Production Line Manager and cross-functional teams to support equipment uptime, safe production, product quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.

Production Manager Schedule:
Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility in start and end times based on production, maintenance, sanitation, and business needs
Overtime:
Overtime, weekend work, and occasional six-day workweeks may be required based on production and operational needs Work setting: On-site role performed in office, production, warehouse, sanitation, and freezer environments, with regular presence on the production floor Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties below are considered essential functions of this position. This list is not exhaustive and may be revised to reflect legitimate business needs, consistent with applicable law. Serve as the primary technical resource for Line 01 and take ownership of the day-to-day technical condition, maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and maintenance documentation for the assigned production line. Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve routine mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, automation, and equipment-performance issues within established procedures, training, safety requirements, and delegated authority. Perform, plan, coordinate, and document preventive, corrective, and minor overhaul maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Line 01 and reduce avoidable downtime. Provide technical input and recommendations to the Production Line Manager regarding equipment condition, maintenance priorities, planned downtime, repair needs, technical risks, and operational improvements. Provide day-to-day technical work direction, hands-on training, coaching, and job-related feedback to Production Operators and Maintenance Operators regarding machine operation, equipment setup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and safe technical work practices. Observe, assess, and document employee technical proficiency and job-related skill development using Company-approved training materials, procedures, and checklists; identify training gaps and recommend additional training or retraining to the Production Line Manager. Establish, communicate, and reinforce technical standards for machine operation, routine equipment care, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment setup, safe work practices, and return-to-service procedures. Coordinate and prioritize routine maintenance activities for the operator technical team, including planned maintenance work, troubleshooting response, and technical task assignments, in alignment with production requirements and established priorities. Direct the immediate technical response to routine equipment breakdowns and recurring reliability issues; coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Safety, Sanitation, Warehouse, and outside vendors, as appropriate. Stop, delay, or remove equipment from service when the employee reasonably believes continued operation presents an imminent safety hazard, food-safety risk, quality risk, or significant risk of equipment damage; promptly notify the Production Line Manager and applicable Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Safety, or management personnel. Verify that equipment is safe and ready to return to service after assigned maintenance work, including confirmation that required guards, safety devices, tools, and work areas are in acceptable condition in accordance with applicable procedures. Analyze downtime, failure trends, maintenance costs, and technical KPIs; implement corrective actions within delegated authority and recommend broader corrective actions, equipment upgrades, parts needs, or process-improvement opportunities to management. Track maintenance-related parts, repair needs, costs, and budget variances; provide timely forecasts, documentation, and recommendations to support monthly maintenance and line-budget planning. Perform minor facility repairs, such as painting, wall repair, and light replacement, when assigned and within the employee's training, authorization, and applicable safety procedures. Identify, promptly report, and escalate structural, equipment, food-safety, quality, sanitation, and safety concerns through established Company procedures. Maintain accurate, timely maintenance records, work orders, inspection records, training records, downtime information, and other required documentation. Comply with and support adherence to SQF, GMP, food-safety, sanitation, quality, allergen-control, workplace-safety, and PPE requirements; promptly report and escalate observed deviations. Perform other related duties consistent with the purpose and level of the position. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. At least three (3) years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or a closely related high-speed production environment, including demonstrated experience supporting production equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance. Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and basic automation systems, including general familiarity with grinding, cutting, welding, and related maintenance practices. Working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA safe-work practices relevant to manufacturing, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, ladder safety, PPE, chemical safety, and safe work around powered industrial equipment. Experience providing work direction, on-the-job training, coaching, or technical guidance to employees in a production, maintenance, warehouse, quality, or manufacturing setting. Ability to read and follow production, maintenance, food-safety, safety, and quality documents; complete work orders, logs, checklists, and other required documentation accurately. English communication skills sufficient to provide work direction, communicate safety and food-safety expectations, deliver training and feedback, read applicable operational documents, and complete required documentation. Spanish-language communication skills are preferred. Demonstrated ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, resolve routine technical and operational problems, and promptly escalate concerns requiring management, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Safety, or Human Resources involvement. Ability to work the assigned schedule, including required overtime, weekend work, and occasional six-day workweeks based on business needs. Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment and comply with all applicable safety, food-safety, sanitation, and quality requirements. Preferred Qualifications Certificate, credential, technical coursework, apprenticeship training, or equivalent demonstrated experience in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, automation, mechatronics, or a related skilled trade. Experience with bakery, frozen-food, packaging, or high-speed food-production equipment, including mixers, dividers, molders, ovens, coolers, freezers, conveyors, packaging machines, labelers/coders, checkweighers, metal detectors, and related systems. Experience using computerized maintenance management systems, maintenance work-order systems, manufacturing execution systems, or production-reporting tools. Experience with lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, process improvement, waste reduction, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement, reliability improvement, or other continuous-improvement practices. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, and move tools, equipment components, replacement parts, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Use mechanical aids, team lifting, or other safe material-handling methods when appropriate. Occasionally climb ladders and use approved platforms, when trained and assigned, to safely access equipment, conduct inspections, observe production processes, or perform maintenance work. Perform periodic computer, documentation, planning, communication, and recordkeeping work, including entering or reviewing work orders, maintenance logs, downtime information, training records, and related reports. Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, vendors, and cross-functional partners in an active manufacturing environment and receive, recognize, and respond to operational, safety, and emergency information through available workplace communication methods. Work Environment and Required Safety Practices This is an on-site position performed in office, production, warehouse, sanitation, freezer, and, as needed, outdoor areas. The employee will regularly work on the production floor and may enter warehouse, freezer, sanitation, utility, and maintenance areas as part of normal job duties. The work environment may include exposure to moving production equipment, conveyors, processing and packaging machinery, forklifts and other powered industrial equipment operating in the area, wet or slippery surfaces, noise, vibration, changing temperatures, freezer conditions, heat, food ingredients, allergens, food-product materials, cleaning and sanitation chemicals, and occasional outdoor weather conditions, as applicable to the work performed. The employee must comply with all applicable Company safety practices, food-safety programs, quality standards, SQF requirements, GMPs, sanitation procedures, allergen-control requirements, security practices, and PPE requirements. Required PPE includes, as applicable to the work area or task, safety shoes, hair and beard restraints, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, high-visibility garments, protective sleeves, freezer gear, and other task-specific protective equipment. The employee must follow applicable machine-guarding, hazardous-energy-control/lockout/tagout, ladder-safety, chemical-safety, sanitation, and other site-specific procedures. Maintenance, servicing, setup, adjustment, or cleaning activities involving hazardous energy must be performed only when the employee is trained, authorized, and following applicable energy-control procedures. The employee must promptly report unsafe conditions; damaged or missing machine guards; malfunctioning safety devices; food-safety, quality, or sanitation concerns; chemical hazards; and other conditions that may create a risk to employees, product, equipment, or the facility. The employee must not bypass, disable, remove, or defeat machine guards, interlocks, emergency stops, or other safety devices.
Compensation and Benefits Pay range:
