The Operations & Maintenance Technician III- Welder/Fabricator is a senior-level role responsible for the design, fabrication, and repair of critical infrastructure within Metropolitan's water treatment and hydroelectric systems.
Riverside, CA What You'll Do Precision Fabrication:
Design, layout, and fabricating custom parts and equipment for large-scale water distribution and hydroelectric facilities.Infrastructure Repair:
Perform high-level welding and repairs on critical assets such as high-pressure pipelines, feeders, impellers, and housing structures.System Maintenance:
Maintain and refurbish specialized water utility assemblies, including large gates, valves, and shafts.Facility Safety & Access:
Fabricate and install essential structural components such as cabinets, vaults, catwalks, guardrails, and drain covers. This position requires travel to various District facilities throughout the service area, often requiring overnight stay in the project area.SCHEDULE

- Welder / Fabricator Qualifications
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate in addition to 3 years of experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to welder/fabricator. OR High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate and attainment of skills through a recognized welder/fabricator trade training program within an industrial environment.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications, licensing and registrations:- Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
- Forklift Certification
- Manlift Certification
- Respirator Certification
