  • range 36 Per Hour Length of Work Year 8 hours per day, 12 months Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Under direction from the Maintenance Team Lead, performs plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, locksmithing, painting, glazing, and other repair, construction, or maintenance on school buildings or grounds; and related work as required.
The classification of Maintenance Technician III requires journey-level skills in one or more of the craft areas as listed in the "Definition" section above. A Maintenance Technician III may be required to perform duties independently or within a team consisting of Maintenance Technicians II, in any combination of the above trades, and to perform any related maintenance work as directed. Licenses and Certificates:
  • Possession of an appropriate, Valid California driver's license with evidence of insurability
  • Appropriate District-owned lift equipment Certificates within six months of employment.
The district will provide training Proof of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent must be submitted with the application.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of journey-level skill in one or more of the trade skill areas listed in the "Definition" section of this job description. Verifiable understanding of workplace safety requirements related to each of the trade skill areas listed in the "Definitions" section of this job description Or
  • Four (4) years of verifiable work directing maintenance in a multi-facility environment. Verifiable understanding of workplace safety requirements related to each of the trades skill areas listed in the "Definitions" section of this job description Or
  • Four (4) years of experience as SCESD Maintenance Technician II and twelve (12) units of college-level courses in any of the trade skill areas listed in the "Definitions" section of this job description Or
  • Six (6) years of experience as a Maintenance Technician II in the Salinas City Elementary School District, a written recommendation from a supervisor following two consecutive positive evaluations, and 6 units of required college-level courses.
Driver's License Copy (Valid CA Driver License ) OR Driver's License Copy (Vehicle insurance) Other (Required Qualifications/Verifiable work experience) Proof of HS Graduation Requirements / Qualifications Please see job descriptions for qualifications.
