Overview Casablanca Inn is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Hotel Maintenance Engineer to help maintain our 64-room property in San Clemente. This is a hands-on position responsible for completing repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that guest rooms and hotel facilities remain safe, functional, and presentable. The ideal candidate has experience with general building or hotel maintenance, can troubleshoot problems independently, and understands the importance of responding promptly and professionally to guest-related maintenance requests. Duties Respond promptly to maintenance requests involving guest rooms and common areas Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and general repairs throughout the property Diagnose and complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs Inspect and maintain guest-room fixtures, plumbing systems, jetted tubs, lighting, doors, locks, and equipment Assist with maintaining the swimming pool, hot tub, courtyard, exterior areas, and hotel facilities Identify water leaks, safety concerns, and equipment problems before they become larger issues Complete room-preventive-maintenance inspections and document completed work Keep tools, equipment, replacement parts, and maintenance areas clean and organized Coordinate with hotel management and outside vendors when specialized repairs are required Follow all safety procedures and applicable regulations Assist with urgent maintenance situations when needed Provide courteous and professional service when completing work in occupied guest rooms Qualifications and Skills Previous hotel, apartment, commercial-building, or facilities-maintenance experience preferred General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, and mechanical repairs Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with limited supervision Preventive-maintenance and pool-maintenance experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple work requests Dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively with hotel staff and guests Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled Valid driver's license preferred Position Details Full-time Schedule include weekends and holidays Join the Casablanca Inn team and help us provide a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained experience for every guest.
