Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Technician Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment and facility systems running safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment changeovers, and minimizing unplanned downtime. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background and is comfortable troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, motors, instrumentation, electrical systems, and production machinery. This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and equipment reliability are critical. Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues, analyze problems, and interpret technical information to determine the appropriate repairs. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and plant electrical and mechanical systems. Diagnose and repair motors, instrumentation, electrical distribution, feed control systems, and other industrial equipment. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) to improve equipment reliability and reduce unscheduled downtime. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and verify that repairs were completed properly. Assist with equipment changeovers and production line startups, troubleshooting issues as they arise. Complete assigned work orders within established timeframes and maintain accurate records of work performed. Document maintenance activities through work-order software, logs, and other required systems. Identify parts needed for repairs and help maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder lists. Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and other departments to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime. Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, personal safety standards, and applicable OSHA standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment, processes, and reliability. Participate in maintenance and improvement projects as needed. Help ensure all products are manufactured safely and meet established quality standards. Qualifications Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a similar technical role. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. Knowledge of motors, electrical distribution, instrumentation, controls, and industrial machinery. Ability to read and interpret technical information, equipment documentation, and maintenance instructions. Experience with preventative maintenance programs and work-order systems preferred. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments. Knowledge of OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, GMP, and food safety practices is preferred. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a maintenance team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50-80 lbs. Ability to stand for 8+ hours and perform repetitive physical tasks. Ability to frequently walk, reach, handle tools/equipment, and use hands for detailed work. Ability to climb ladders and stairways and work from elevated areas using a manlift or scissor lift with proper safety equipment. Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance. Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environments and areas exposed to heat. Frequent exposure to oils, greases, and coolants. Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, vibration, outdoor weather, chemicals, extreme heat, and elevated work areas. Must have the vision necessary to safely perform maintenance work, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician will regularly work around production machinery, electrical equipment, moving equipment, oils/greases, heat, and other industrial conditions. Proper PPE and safety procedures are required at all times. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can walk up to a piece of equipment that isn't running correctly, diagnose the issue, and determine what needs to be done to get it safely back into production. Someone who enjoys troubleshooting, understands both electrical and mechanical systems, and takes pride in preventing problems before they lead to downtime will be successful in this role.

Up to $28.00 per hour
