Job Description

We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Valley Center, CA. This role supports facilities, housing units, and government buildings through hands-on construction, repair, preventative maintenance, and general facilities upkeep. The Maintenance Technician will work with supportive leadership, collaborate with internal teams, and interact professionally with residents and staff to ensure maintenance needs are handled with care, safety, and strong customer service. This position offers steady work, a positive team environment, and the opportunity to continue building skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, flooring, concrete, painting, drywall, and general facilities maintenance. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on housing units and government buildings, including painting, drywall repair, plumbing repairs, carpentry, framing, door repairs, fence repairs, and minor roof repairs.
  • Install and replace building components such as rain gutters, water heaters, refrigerators, light fixtures, smoke detectors, toilets, faucets, cabinets, countertops, flooring, drywall, shingles, and small-area concrete.
  • Prepare job sites by tarping, taping, caulking, sanding, priming, cleaning surfaces, completing demolition, removing debris, and maintaining safe work areas.
  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner, prepare material and cost estimates, and maintain inventory of supplies, parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Support facility needs such as event setup and breakdown, furniture moves, temporary janitorial tasks, and assistance to other general services departments as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment and work extended hours or weekends when approved and necessary to meet project deadlines. Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay range: $23 to $27 per hour, depending on experience.
