Multi-Site Facilities Maintenance Technician Position Summary The Multi-Site Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, appearance, functionality, and overall condition of four Family Connect Memory Care residential homes. This position performs routine preventive maintenance, completes repairs promptly, coordinates outside vendors when necessary, and ensures that each home remains safe, comfortable, and well maintained for our residents, families, and employees. Because our homes serve individuals living with dementia, all work must be completed with professionalism, patience, discretion, and minimal disruption to residents' daily routines. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of all four homes and identify safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and needed repairs. Complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, doors, locks, cabinets, walls, flooring, furniture, and other household systems. Perform preventive maintenance according to an established schedule. Maintain heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems by changing filters, monitoring performance, and coordinating professional service when needed. Repair and maintain toilets, faucets, sinks, drains, garbage disposals, and other plumbing fixtures within the scope of the position. Replace light bulbs, switches, outlets, smoke-detector batteries, and other basic electrical components when legally permitted and within the employee's qualifications. Complete minor painting, drywall repair, touch-ups, caulking, and cosmetic improvements. Inspect and maintain resident safety equipment, including grab bars, handrails, gates, ramps, shower safety equipment, door alarms, and exterior lighting. Ensure walkways, entrances, patios, garages, storage areas, and outdoor spaces remain safe, clean, and free of hazards. Assemble, move, repair, or secure furniture and equipment as requested. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues that may affect resident safety, care, or facility operations. Maintain an organized work-order system and document completed repairs, outstanding needs, materials used, and vendor visits. Prioritize requests based on resident safety, operational urgency, and direction from management. Communicate clearly with house managers and administration regarding the status of repairs and anticipated completion dates. Obtain approval before making significant purchases or authorizing outside services. Coordinate and supervise approved outside vendors, contractors, and service providers. Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, warranties, manuals, and maintenance records in an organized manner. Purchase approved maintenance materials and provide receipts and documentation promptly. Assist with facility inspections and correct identified maintenance or safety concerns within the required timeframe. Follow all Family Connect Memory Care safety, infection-control, confidentiality, and resident-privacy policies. Maintain professional boundaries and avoid discussing resident, employee, or company information with unauthorized individuals. Perform additional facility-related duties as assigned by the CEO, COO, or administration. Position Expectations Travel between four Family Connect Memory Care homes as scheduled and when urgent needs arise. Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality, and consistent communication. Respond to maintenance requests within established timeframes. Keep management informed when a repair requires a licensed contractor or falls outside the employee's experience or legal authority. Never perform work that requires a professional license unless properly licensed and authorized. Maintain a clean and safe work area and remove all tools, debris, and hazardous materials immediately upon completing a project. Interact respectfully with residents, families, employees, neighbors, vendors, and members of management. Use additional caution when tools, ladders, cords, chemicals, or equipment are present around residents. Protect residents from noise, dust, fumes, open work areas, and other potential disturbances or hazards. Minimum Qualifications At least two years of general residential, property, or facility-maintenance experience preferred. Experience supporting senior living, assisted living, healthcare, or residential-care facilities is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, and preventive maintenance. Ability to assess problems, determine appropriate solutions, and recognize when a licensed professional is required. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage maintenance needs across multiple locations. Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance. Ability to pass all required background checks and health clearances. Ability to use a smartphone for communication, photographs, work orders, and documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and power tools. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds safely. Ability to perform physical work for extended periods while following all safety requirements. Schedule and Classification Hourly, nonexempt position. Schedule may vary according to facility needs. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency response may be required with prior authorization whenever possible. All working time, travel between facilities during the workday, and approved after-hours work must be accurately recorded.
Compensation Expected pay range:
$27.00-$33.00 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, and technical skills. Approved business mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy and applicable California requirements.
