Job Summary The Maintenance Technician/Industrial Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and servicing production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This position performs preventative maintenance and responds to equipment breakdowns while working closely with production personnel and management. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other equipment issues. Repair, rebuild, adjust, lubricate, and replace equipment components as needed. Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential problems before breakdowns occur. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize production downtime. Install, remove, and modify machinery and equipment as required. Work with motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, bearings, valves, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment. Use electrical testing equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems. Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed. Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance instructions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts, and equipment conditions. Communicate maintenance concerns and equipment issues to supervisors and management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures, food-processing requirements, and applicable OSHA standards. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned. Required Tools Employee must provide their own basic set of mechanic/maintenance hand tools necessary to perform the job. Tools may include, but are not limited to: Standard and metric hand tools Combination wrenches and socket sets Screwdrivers Pliers and cutters Allen/hex key sets Adjustable wrenches Hammers and basic striking tools Nut drivers Tape measure and other measuring tools Basic electrical testing tools/multimeter Other commonly used mechanic hand tools Qualifications Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician, Industrial Mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar position. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Basic electrical troubleshooting experience. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Welding/fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics. Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs. Ability to work in a manufacturing/food-processing environment. Must be safety-conscious and able to follow company procedures. Preferred Experience 2+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanical experience. Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and production machinery. Electrical troubleshooting experience. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience working in a food-processing, manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial environment.
