Job Description

DESCRIPTION
Located in the heart of downtown Boulder, Highland | City Club is a private business and social club creating new ways of working, socializing, dining, and thriving. We believe in the power of community — and we believe there is no problem hard work, a great attitude, and tenacity can't solve. We're hiring a Facilities Attendant to work directly alongside our Facilities Manager and help maintain, improve, and operate our property at an exceptionally high standard. This is a role for a strong, efficient, highly detailed do-er . Someone who likes a full task list, moves with urgency, notices small problems before they become large ones, and gets real satisfaction from making a building work better. You should enjoy working with your hands, but you should also have a mind for systems, organization, sequencing, and execution . The best person for this role will not simply complete tasks — they will constantly look for ways to make recurring work cleaner, faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain. Highland is a 130-year-old historic property that we've owned and managed for the past 43 years . Our campus includes two buildings and award-winning gardens , with a constant mix of preventative maintenance, repairs, improvements, event preparation, grounds work, equipment upkeep, organization, and special projects. On any given day, you might begin by walking the property and addressing anything that is out of place, complete a preventative maintenance checklist, repair a door or piece of furniture, replace hardware, touch up paint, organize a storage room, move equipment for an event, troubleshoot a facilities issue, receive a vendor, help with a construction project, maintain outdoor areas, or work through a list of open tasks in Asana. A major part of this position is execution . Our Facilities Manager is responsible for setting department priorities, planning projects, coordinating larger work, and maintaining the overall facilities system. The Facilities Attendant helps turn those plans into completed work. You will be expected to understand the task, gather what you need, execute it efficiently, clean up thoroughly, document what was completed, and move confidently to the next priority. We care deeply about the details. A repair is not finished if the surrounding area is dirty. A storage room is not organized if no one can maintain the system. A temporary solution should not quietly become a permanent one. We want someone who naturally thinks this way. You'll also help us build stronger systems around the physical property. That could mean improving tool organization, labeling storage, maintaining inventories, documenting recurring maintenance, creating checklists, tracking supplies, identifying repetitive issues, or suggesting a better process for completing routine work. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable with technology and enjoy creating order. This is also very much a team role . Facilities touches every part of the Club. You'll work around our Hospitality, Kitchen, Events, Cleaning, Concierge, and Administration teams, and you'll frequently be helping another department accomplish something important. We want someone who is responsive, respectful, flexible, and understands that the goal is not simply to finish your work — it is to help the entire organization operate well. We use Asana to manage facilities tasks and preventative maintenance and Slack and email for communication. You should be comfortable receiving assignments digitally, keeping tasks updated, documenting work clearly, and maintaining an accurate picture of what has and has not been completed. This position pays $24 to $28 per hour , depending on your experience, skillset, productivity, attitude, and other contributing factors. There is meaningful room to grow in both compensation and responsibility. We are looking for someone who wants to become exceptionally good at what they do and who is willing to prove themselves through consistency, quality, and work ethic. If you believe you are a strong candidate for this position, please complete the application below. You will be asked to share more about yourself, upload a resume, and provide a few references.
REQUIREMENTS
Relentlessly positive, dependable, and willing to help wherever needed Highly efficient — able to work through a significant volume of tasks without sacrificing quality Extremely detail-oriented with a natural eye for things that are broken, dirty, disorganized, unfinished, or out of place Strong "do-er" mentality: comfortable receiving a task, figuring out what is needed, and carrying it through to completion Strong team mentality with a willingness to support departments throughout the organization Takes direction well while also being proactive enough to identify and address obvious needs independently Strong follow-through — you finish what you start and communicate clearly when something cannot be completed Comfortable performing basic maintenance, repairs, assembly, painting, landscaping, moving, installation, and other hands-on work Comfortable learning new skills and tackling unfamiliar physical projects Physically strong, energetic, and capable of spending much of the day moving, lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, working outdoors, and completing physically demanding work Naturally organized and capable of maintaining tools, equipment, storage areas, materials, and supplies at a high standard Systems-oriented — interested in checklists, preventative maintenance schedules, inventory systems, labeling, documentation, and improving recurring processes Comfortable using technology daily, including Asana, Slack, email, checklists, and basic digital systems Able to prioritize multiple tasks and move efficiently from one project to another High standards for craftsmanship, cleanliness, organization, and presentation Habit of cleaning as you go and leaving every workspace better than you found it Comfortable assisting subcontractors, vendors, and service providers when needed Able to notice recurring problems and communicate potential solutions to the Facilities Manager Consistent and reliable — we depend on this role every day to help keep a large and active property operating properly Facilities, maintenance, construction, landscaping, handyman, mechanical, or trade experience is helpful, but exceptional work ethic, aptitude, and attention to detail matter just as much
BENEFITS
We offer a delicious, organic, seed-oil free lunch every day, along with coffee and tea. You'll be joining a high-performing, tight-knit team with a genuinely collaborative culture and a shared commitment to excellence. This is a place for people who like to work hard, solve problems, learn quickly, and take pride in being useful. The work is varied, the expectations are high, and there is always something that can be improved. For the right person, that is exactly what makes the role rewarding. This position also includes participation in our Hospitality Bonus Program and Incentive-Based Bonus Programs , with opportunities for additional compensation and increased responsibility as you grow with the organization.
