Fraser, US Long Description General Characteristics and purpose Performs maintenance and repair services on production machines according to the maintenance plan or on request of production. This position may cover electrical, mechanical, civil and/or other specialties but is supported by Maintenance engineers, supervisors or outside contractors as needed. Representative Activities Utilizes hand tools and common shop machinery. Is involved in the installation and/or calibration of mechanical equipment and machinery, which may involve CNC equipment, hydraulics, electro-mechanical gears and other machinery. Is involved in the diagnoses of mechanical faults on production equipment and machinery. Registers all maintenance related activities into systems. May also be involved in the maintenance of buildings, production sites or other facilities. May also be called Maintenance Operator, Employee Maintenance, Maintenance worker, Electrician, Mechanic, Electromechanic, Fitter, Tool Sharpener, … Typically reports to a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. Scope Variants Autonomy Works within well-defined and standardized procedures and practices and is supervised on progress and results by manager. Works together with Maintenance Engineers or other experts to solve more complex problems Acts as coach for less-skilled technicians Expertise & complexity Uses all shop machinery and hand tools Root cause analysis is required, as well as interpretation/ adjustments to existing systems and processes Planning May assist the supervisor with the planning of (preventive) maintenance tasks but focus is still on execution Experience Requires experience with the specific production processJob Segment:
