This position works under the direction of the Chief Engineer and assists with the day-to-day maintenance and repair needs of the hotel. This is a great position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with their hands, and handling a variety of maintenance issues throughout the day. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms and hotel public areas Assist the Chief Engineer with preventative maintenance and ongoing projects Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical issues Respond to guest room maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Complete preventative maintenance in guest rooms Perform basic repairs including toilets, faucets, drains, fixtures, doors, locks, furniture, drywall, and other hotel equipment Assist with maintaining the exterior and common areas of the property Complete routine property inspections and identify maintenance concerns Maintain a clean and organized maintenance/work area Communicate unresolved or larger maintenance issues to the Chief Engineer Follow hotel safety procedures and properly use tools and equipment Assist with other property needs as assigned Schedule This position requires flexible availability. Candidates must be willing to work different shifts depending on the needs of the hotel, including: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Weekends Holidays Schedules may vary from week to week based on hotel and engineering department needs. Qualifications Previous hotel, apartment, facilities, construction, or general maintenance experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs preferred Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine when an issue needs to be escalated Comfortable using basic hand and power tools Dependable and able to work independently when needed Good communication and customer-service skills Must be comfortable interacting with hotel guests while completing maintenance requests Ability to stay productive and complete assigned preventative maintenance during slower periods Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the Chief Engineer Flexible schedule and reliable attendance are required What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and understands that hotel maintenance can be unpredictable.
