A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Manufacturing Maintenance Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician to support a manufacturing facility in Bristol, CT. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining production machinery, electrical components, and facility equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, and able to take initiative when identifying and resolving equipment problems. This position requires experience using a variety of machining, welding, and repair equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems affecting production machinery Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs in a timely manner Use saws, welders, surface grinders, lathes, Bridgeport mills, and related equipment to make mechanical repairs Repair damaged electrical boards, cords, furnaces, outlets, and related electrical components Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and production interruptions Communicate with vendors to locate replacement parts and purchase necessary materials Compare pricing and availability to identify cost-effective replacement parts and equipment Prepare and complete purchase orders Assist management and subcontractors with designing, building, and modifying production equipment Design new machinery using existing equipment as a template while incorporating necessary upgrades Modify and refurbish existing machinery to meet production requirements Identify potential equipment problems before they affect production Participate actively on the company safety committee Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Operate a forklift after completing company-provided training Follow all federal, state, local, and company safety requirements Perform additional maintenance and facility duties as needed Qualifications Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair experience Experience using welding and machining equipment Ability to read and understand equipment instructions, diagrams, and technical information Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, management, and production employees Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to establish positive working relationships and assist others Willingness to learn company procedures, equipment, and products Ability to lift and carry materials as needed Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Forklift experience is helpful but not required Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment What We're Looking For We are looking for a hands-on maintenance professional who can take ownership of equipment problems from diagnosis through repair. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and capable of supporting both the immediate repair needs and long-term reliability of the facility's production equipment.
Pay Details:
