The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced, Connecticut-licensed septic installer who can take ownership of installations and repairs from site preparation through final cleanup. You should know how to read a system plan, operate excavation equipment, troubleshoot problems, and guide a crew through a properly executed job. You'll work closely with our operations team and local inspectors to deliver work that meets approved plans, applicable requirements, and the EPIC Standard. An active Connecticut installer license and hands-on experience in both septic system installation and repair are required for this position. A Day in the
Life Install Systems That Last:
Install and replace septic tanks, distribution boxes, piping, leaching systems, risers, and related components according to approved plans and manufacturer requirements.
Diagnose and Repair:
Investigate backups, damaged piping, distribution problems, and other system issues. Explain your findings and coordinate the appropriate repair with our team. Own the
Layout:
Read plans, establish elevations, verify slopes, and use laser levels and other layout tools to keep the installation accurate. Lead the
Crew:
Direct helpers, organize daily tasks, coordinate materials, and communicate progress or site conditions that could affect the job. Operate with
Precision:
Safely operate excavators, skid steers, compactors, and other equipment while protecting utilities, structures, and customer property.
Keep Inspections Moving:
Coordinate required inspections with the office and local health department. Keep work accessible for inspection and resolve identified issues before proceeding. Protect the
Job Site:
Follow excavation, trenching, utility-location, lifting, and equipment safety procedures. Stop and address unsafe conditions.
Finish Strong:
Check your work, complete backfilling and agreed site restoration, clean up thoroughly, and document the completed job with photos and accurate notes.
What We're Looking For Required Connecticut License:
A current Connecticut Subsurface Sewage Disposal System Installer license in good standing.
Required Experience:
Demonstrated experience installing, replacing, diagnosing, and repairing septic systems.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with Connecticut septic installation requirements, approved system plans, local health department inspections, and proper installation practices.
Equipment Skills:
Experience operating excavation equipment and using grade and elevation tools.
Crew Leadership:
Ability to organize work, direct helpers, and maintain quality without constant supervision.
Driving Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and a driving record suitable for company vehicle use. A CDL is a plus.
Clear Communication:
Professional interactions with customers, coworkers, inspectors, and the office.
Field Readiness:
Ability to perform the essential duties of outdoor installation work, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job-Based Earnings:
Installation pay is based on your assigned share of the job's crew pay pool.
Weekly Minimum-Wage Protection:
We review each employee's earnings and hours every workweek and pay any adjustment needed to meet the applicable minimum wage—even when a job is unfinished or customer payment is pending.
Overtime Paid Separately:
Required overtime after 40 hours in a workweek is calculated using the applicable regular rate, including job-based earnings.
Accurate Timekeeping:
Record all hours worked, including loading, meetings, compensable travel, installation, repairs, and cleanup.
Weekly Payroll:
Our workweek runs Sunday through Saturday, with payday the following Friday, or the preceding workday when Friday is a nonwork day.
