Maintenance Technician- WEEKENDS ONLY Flexible hours The JHouse Greenwich Riverside, CT Job Details Full-time $23 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Outdoor work experience English Groundskeeping High school diploma or GED Driver's License Problem-solving Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Job Overview The J House Greenwich is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, responding to guest requests and ensuring the hotel's facilities and equipment are functioning properly. This job would require at least 40 hours a week flexible hours 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm. Flexible hours for weekend and holidays as well. Duties Respond to and resolve maintenance issues: This includes addressing guest requests, performing repairs and identifying potential problems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks:
This includes tasks like plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and cleaning.
Conduct preventative maintenance:
This involves regularly inspecting and maintaining of equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Maintain inventory:
Keep tracks of tools, supplies, and parts ensuring they are readily available when needed.
Follow safety and security protocols:
Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for both guests and staff.
Communicate effectively:
Able to communicate effectively with guests, other departments and supervisors to coordinate work and address issues. Perform repairs on both interior and exterior landscaping, outdoor heated pool and sprinklers. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 lbs. pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps and ladders.
Experience Technical skills:
Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, carpentry or other relevant trades is required.
Problem solving skills:
Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
Communication skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and supervisors. Must possess strong command of English language.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Physical stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, lift and perform other physically demanding tasks.
Safety awareness:
Understanding of safety procedures and protocols. Wears protective equipment when needed.
Experience:
Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior. Surface prep and painting & wallpapering a plus. Performs all other related duties as requested by Chief Engineer Manager and / or Supervisor.
Education:
Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent and vocational or technical school background. Prior hotel experience, a plus.
License or Certification:
Valid Driver's License Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
