Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role oversees maintenance and repair activities for equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, as well as building structures, grounds, and facility systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. The position leads a team of maintenance technicians, manages a building safety program, and supports assigned operational projects while promoting a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. roles, we are looking to hire individuals with basic electrical and mechanical knowledge and training will be provided. Responsibilities Manage and direct the daily activities of maintenance technicians across all areas of the building, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Train maintenance technicians in their assignments, providing on-the-job coaching, guidance, and support to build technical and professional capabilities. Conduct performance appraisals and needs assessments to identify development opportunities and recommend improvements in technician skills and performance. Recommend and assist in the development of training curricula to enhance technician knowledge of equipment, systems, and maintenance best practices. Oversee the repair and maintenance of all equipment, machinery, electrical and power systems, and building systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation. Serve as a mentor and technical resource for technicians, providing troubleshooting expertise and guidance on effective work methods and problem-solving techniques. Plan and recommend maintenance programs and work schedules that minimize equipment downtime and support operational efficiency. Manage the maintenance and repair of building grounds, including lawn and landscape care, sanitary upkeep, and parking lot maintenance. Oversee department budgets, hours worked, and work assignments, ensuring resources are used effectively and within established guidelines. Manage daily staffing needs, including scheduling, vacation coverage, and workload balancing, while monitoring turnover and volume to maintain adequate staffing levels. Direct, coordinate, and control departmental activities, plans, and programs in alignment with authorized company policies, procedures, budgets, and applicable laws. Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly within the maintenance department. Implement and support safety programs, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular walk-throughs (Manage by Walking Around) to monitor facility conditions, observe technician work methods, and identify safety or maintenance issues. Reinforce team member safety by coaching on safe work practices and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Address team member concerns promptly and professionally, fostering open communication and a positive working environment. Communicate essential information to the maintenance team, including operational updates, safety messages, and policy guidelines. Develop, review, and recommend methods of operational improvement within the maintenance function, focusing on equipment performance, systems reliability, and process efficiency. Identify and implement corrective actions and best practices to improve maintenance activities and overall facility operations. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor Locks, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
