Aerotek is hiring a day shift Maintenance Mechanic in Milford, DE. This is a M-F schedule. Qualified candidates will have industrial maintenance experience. Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting hydraulic equipment and other machinery used in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, in-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with production teams to keep equipment running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment and other manufacturing machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related equipment. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Conduct regular inspections of machinery to verify that equipment is operating efficiently and safely. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment status. Collaborate closely with production staff and other team members to minimize equipment downtime and support smooth manufacturing operations. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as needed. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. Strong mechanical skills with the ability to work on a variety of manufacturing machinery. Proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and identifying root causes of mechanical issues. Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks on hydraulic and mechanical equipment. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively. Comfort working with pneumatics and basic understanding of pneumatic systems. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for maintenance and repair tasks. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods. Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment. Trustworthiness and reliability in handling equipment, tools, and maintenance documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working as a maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with old-school, hands-on manufacturing processes and equipment. Strong attention to detail when inspecting equipment and documenting maintenance work.
