Hours:

8am to 4:30pm with rotating weekends SUMMARY Assist EVS Director. Responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance of facility equipment. Must be able to paint and handle basic repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, using hand and power tools and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Observes mechanical devices (pumps, engines, motors, conveyor systems, and laboratory equipment) in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Spackles and paints needed areas. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments or may install specific functional and structural parts. When applicable handles all snow removal and salting on the sidewalks and entrance ways Follows and completes work orders processed through the computerized maintenance program. Maintains supply inventory and initiates purchase order for parts and equipment. Ensures safe operation and prescribed care of all machinery (maintaining equipment in good operable condition) Follows all safety precautions before and during each work assignment. Conducts weekly test of generator. Conducts daily Life Safety Rounds, i.e. Water temperatures, Fire Doors, Call Bells etc.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

High School Diploma, with shop courses. Must be able to read, write and speak English Knowledge of mechanical equipment Experience in doing basic HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing preventive and corrective maintenance. Able to keep assigned areas in a condition complying with corporate standards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in clean, well-lighted, heated and ventilated building (rooms and corridors). The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside variable weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
