Prior fire door experience is NOT required. We can train the right technician on fire door requirements, inspections, and specialized repairs. However, applicants must have hands-on commercial door and hardware experience and be comfortable troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing, and installing commercial doors in the field. What We're Looking For Candidates should have experience with commercial doors and hardware, including: Adjusting, replacing, and troubleshooting door closers Installing continuous/piano hinges Removing and installing commercial doors Installing and replacing lite kits / vision kits Adjusting doors for proper alignment, clearances, and operation Troubleshooting common commercial door and hardware issues Working with hinges, locksets, exit devices, strikes, coordinators, and related hardware Using hand and power tools safely and professionally Fire door experience, automatic door experience, and knowledge of rated openings are all a plus, but we are willing to provide fire-door-specific training to someone with a strong commercial door background. Field Documentation & Communication Technical ability is only part of the position. Our technicians are expected to operate professionally and stay organized throughout the workday.

You must be comfortable:

Accurately documenting work performed Taking clear before-and-after photos when required Keeping track of labor and time spent on each job Providing clear descriptions of repairs and outstanding issues Promptly updating the inside office on job status Communicating immediately when there is a problem, delay, additional work needed, or a question from the customer Keeping the office informed without needing to be repeatedly followed up with Strong communication with our inside office is a must. We need technicians who understand that completing the repair and properly communicating/documenting the work are equally important parts of the job. The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, professional around customers, and capable of working independently. The right technician takes pride in figuring out door problems, completing quality repairs, documenting their work, and moving efficiently from job to job. If you have solid commercial door experience but haven't worked specifically with fire doors, we still want to hear from you. We'll teach you the fire door side — we're looking for someone who already has the commercial door fundamentals, work ethic, and communication skills to succeed.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
