Mechanic I Maintenance Maintenance - Belle Glade, FL - Full Time Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DUDA, established in 2006 to manage the company's legacy fresh produce operations. Capitalizing on a tradition begun in 1926 of growing healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, Duda Farm Fresh Foods offers year-round availability of a wide range of products packed under the Dandy® brand. A full-service grower, packer, shipper, marketer, importer and exporter of farm fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh-cut vegetables, its operations are geographically diversified. The Florida-based corporation has production and shipping operations in Florida, California, Arizona, Michigan and Georgia with additional domestic and international locations. Duda Farm Fresh Foods is seeking a Mechanic I to join our Belle Glade Facility Maintenance Team. This role will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facility equipment. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, timely completion of work orders, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and maintaining required parts and supplies. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and will thrive working independently and within a structured team environment while being committed to supporting overall operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain reliability.
- and close assigned maintenance work orders accurately and within required timeframes.
- Conduct daily safety/pre-operational inspections and immediately report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or acts.
- Follow all safety rules, use required PPE, and comply with company, regulatory, food safety, GMP, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure necessary spare parts and maintenance inventory are properly stocked, replenished, and available when needed.
- Attend required training and safety meetings, follow company policies, maintain reliable attendance, and support other teams as needed.
- Other duties as assigned including getting moved to another group or work team and shift starting time. Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Strong ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also performing effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- English required; bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Valid driver's license required. Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull 50-80 lbs.
- Repetitive bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Field and facility work required.
- Travel to other locations may be required.
