Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM One-hour lunch break Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our buildings and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a clean, functional, and safe environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your diverse maintenance skills in a fast-paced setting, contributing directly to the overall efficiency and comfort of our facilities. Duties Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment to ensure continuous operation. Conduct repairs on electrical systems using schematics and electrical tools such as ohmmeters, ensuring safety standards are met. Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and drainage to prevent leaks and ensure proper functionality. Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, cabinetry, and interior structures to uphold building integrity. Execute maintenance painting projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of interior spaces while adhering to safety guidelines. Operate hand tools and specialized equipment for welding, electrical work, HVAC system repair, and other maintenance tasks with precision. Supervise or assist with facilities equipment maintenance projects while adhering to safety protocols; may include supervising team members or contractors when necessary. Use schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures to troubleshoot issues effectively. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management to minimize downtime. Document all maintenance activities accurately in logs or computerized systems for tracking purposes. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in building interior maintenance and facilities upkeep. Proficiency in electrical work including repair of electrical equipment and understanding of schematics. Experience with HVAC system repair and routine HVAC system maintenance. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques using appropriate tools like pipe wrenches and ohmmeters. Ability to operate hand tools safely for carpentry, welding, painting, and general repairs. Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) practices for efficient facility management. Familiarity with electrical equipment repair procedures and electrical safety standards. Leadership or supervising experience in a maintenance environment is a plus; capable of guiding team members effectively. Excellent customer service skills to address internal requests professionally and promptly. Basic understanding of schematics for troubleshooting complex systems efficiently. Experience working with residential painting techniques is advantageous but not required.
