Job Description
Installation and repair of commercial rolling steel overhead doors, sectional doors and loading dock equipment for our commercial customers. Minimum of three (3) years construction/electrical/welding and mechanical experience required. Our field positions require customer service oriented individuals who are experienced in installation and/or repair. Candidates must be self starters with excellent mechanical ability, strong problem solving skills and sales ability. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with customers is imperative.
- Responsible for multiple tasks involving the take down of used commercial doors and / or equipment, installation of new commercial doors, operators, equipment and multiple service categories on doors, operators, dock levelers and associated equipment.
- Evaluate appropriate commercial door and installation/service requirements for each job.
- Prior to commencement of work, determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and / or available.
- Establish the needs of each job and document the full installation/service needed.
- Determine if added work needs to be performed and the measures needed to assure approved installation of product.
- Alterations, construction modifications and obstructions must be noted before each job is to begin.
- Documentation of the work to be performed is discussed with the Salesperson and/or Scheduling Supervisor for approval.
- Perform related minor work in framing, build in's, and adjustments.
- Service and/or install commercial garage doors using appropriate tools, hardware and equipment.
- Perform commercial service/installation on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, locks, etc.
- Care and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Care and maintenance of vehicles.
- Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle to ensure that items are available for service / installation work.
