Job Description

Job Overview La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Coral Springs is seeking a reliable, experienced, and motivated Part-Time Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot and complete repairs independently, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical repairs, air conditioning, painting, and preventative maintenance. Previous hotel maintenance experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in apartment, residential, or commercial property maintenance are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, hallways, common areas, and exterior spaces. Troubleshoot and complete minor plumbing repairs, including toilets, faucets, sinks, and drains. Diagnose and perform basic repairs on air conditioning units and HVAC systems within the scope of your training and qualifications. Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, and bulbs, as permitted by applicable regulations. Complete painting, drywall repairs, furniture repairs, and other general maintenance tasks. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure guest rooms and equipment remain in good working condition. Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders. Maintain the hotel's swimming pool and surrounding areas, including routine cleaning and upkeep, as qualified. Assist with maintaining the property's overall appearance, including parking areas, landscaping, and exterior cleanliness. Identify and report major maintenance issues that require outside contractors or specialized repairs. Maintain an organized and clean maintenance workspace and properly secure tools and equipment. Follow all hotel safety procedures and provide professional, courteous service when interacting with guests and team members.
Qualifications Required:
At least one year of hands-on general maintenance or repair experience. Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and general building repairs. Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete assigned tasks independently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a professional attitude. Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and hotel guests. Availability to work at least one weekend day per week.
Preferred:
Previous hotel, apartment, or commercial property maintenance experience. Experience maintaining and troubleshooting hotel PTAC air conditioning units. Experience with swimming pool maintenance. Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and work order systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs throughout the shift. Ability to safely use ladders and basic maintenance tools. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance. Ability to perform maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors, including working in Florida's heat and humidity. What We Offer Competitive hourly pay of $18.00. Part-time schedule.
