This position complies with the Respect of Florida Program , a Florida-based initiative to promote employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Through nonprofit agencies, the program provides employment opportunities in the areas of custodial, landscaping and food preparation services to a multitude of County and State agencies. The program requires that 51-75% of the services provided be completed by individuals who meet the definition of a federal disability. All candidates for employment must pass a background check and may be subject to a federal background check (where applicable).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Laborers may be assigned to one or more of the following areas and are expected to perform various combinations of these responsibilities. A valid driver's license is preferred. Clean and maintain tile, marble, terrazzo, and carpeted floors to ensure they are spotless and free of stains. Dust mop all floor areas thoroughly prior to deep cleaning. Operate a 175 RPM floor machine to strip floors using appropriate cleaning solutions to remove old finishes. Apply floor coatings to achieve a uniform and polished finish. Use a high-speed floor machine to buff and enhance the appearance of finished floors. Vacuum all carpeted areas to remove surface dirt and debris. Pre-treat carpet stains and spots with appropriate chemical solutions. Shampoo carpets using specialized equipment to ensure deep cleaning and stain removal. Perform all other duties as assigned, which may include additional cleaning tasks or support functions as needed. All other duties as assigned. Experience:
Six months of cleaning experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to push heavy equipment, such as cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaners, floor stripping equipment, trash cans, and water buckets. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Must wear the appropriate PPE gloves, mask, goggles, and closed-toe shoes.
Work Environment:
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees could work in outside areas.
