Here is your chance! The Facilities Operations Technician is based out of the Toronto Blue Jays' Spring Training Facilities in Dunedin, Florida. This position will assist in maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of TD Ballpark, the Player Development Complex, and all associated facilities. The Facilities Operations Technician performs a variety of facility maintenance, custodial, and operational support functions to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition year-round. Responsibilities include painting, drywall repair, pressure washing, general building maintenance, custodial services, and furniture and fixture repairs. This individual must be capable of safely operating a variety of hand and power tools and working independently or as part of a collaborative team. Ability and willingness to perform key responsibilities at both TD Ballpark and the Player Development Complex is required. During non-peak periods, the individual may be assigned to either facility as operational needs dictate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Maintenance & Repairs:
Paint and repair doors, drywall, floors, walls, woodwork, ceilings, and other building finishes. Perform minor repairs using hand and power tools. Pressure wash sidewalks, concourses, and exterior surfaces. Repair or replace damaged fixtures and building components as assigned. Maintain the appearance and functionality of TD Ballpark, the Player Development Complex, and associated facilities as directed. Responsible for helping to identify maintenance, housekeeping, and safety concerns requiring attention. Assist with facility improvement and beautification projects.
Custodial & Facility Care:
Perform general cleaning and custodial duties throughout facilities and grounds. Assist with waste removal and facility sanitation activities. Ensure facility spaces are clean, safe, and presentable for players, staff, and visitors.
Work Order & Inventory Management:
Review, track, monitor, and update individual maintenance work orders and service requests. Identify and request cleaning supplies, parts, tools, and operational materials as needed. Execute preventive maintenance programs as assigned.
General:
Maintain a safe work environment and follow organizational safety policies and procedures. Support facility maintenance operations across both TD Ballpark and the Player Development Complex as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Facility maintenance, grounds, or related experience required. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, pressure washers, and cleaning equipment. Basic knowledge of building maintenance, painting, drywall repair, and custodial practices. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. Self-starter with practical judgement and a positive work ethic. Desire to work as part of a collaborative, high-performing team. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Bending, carrying, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting 50 pounds, pulling, pushing, running, sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, twisting, and walking to perform job duties. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including outdoor work assignments. Visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory senses required to identify facility issues and safely perform assigned tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed throughout TD Ballpark, the Player Development Complex, and associated facilities in both indoor and outdoor environments. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, and sunlight. Exposure to industrial waste, cleaning chemicals, grease, dust, dirt, noise, odors, smoke, electricity, poor lighting, and other facility maintenance conditions. Exposure to hazards such as chemicals, fumes, sharp surfaces, moving equipment, tripping hazards, and other facility-related risks.
