Job Description

About the Position The Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority (IDA) is seeking a reliable and motivated General Maintenance Technician I to join our Operations team on July 9, 2026. This position plays an important role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the Lakewood Ranch Community Development Districts. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in keeping community spaces clean and well-maintained. The position will have duties ranging from general maintenance items to more specific duties in park services, Town Hall upkeep, and assisting with electrical and utility tasks. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor . Key Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs on parks, facilities, and community infrastructure. Clean and maintain park pavilions, restrooms, playgrounds, and common areas. Remove trash and service waste receptacles, including dog waste stations. Operate pressure washers, leaf blowers, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Assist with facility setups and maintenance at Town Hall and community events. Conduct inspections and minor repairs of gates, signs, hardscape features, and public facilities. Support electrical maintenance activities under supervision and training. Support utility maintenance and repair activities under supervision and training. Respond to weekend emergency maintenance calls and infrastructure issues as part of the on-call rotation. Maintain vehicles, tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and professional manner. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least two (2) years of related maintenance experience or training. Valid Florida driver's license with acceptable driving record. Successful completion of a background check. Consistent attendance and punctuality are required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of building and facility maintenance practices. Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn maintenance and repair techniques. Familiarity with basic plumbing concepts or willingness to learn. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment. Ability to operate a light-duty service vehicle. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions in the field. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, residents, vendors, and contractors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 80 pounds and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Willingness to learn electrical and utility maintenance tasks through on-the-job training and development. Working Conditions Outdoor work environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and other weather conditions. Requires adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment. May involve working near traffic or excavation sites. Moderate noise levels.
Schedule & Compensation Schedule:
Thursday - Sunday, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (40 hours/week)
Overtime:
May be required; position is eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate.
Emergency On-Call Rotation:

Job Grade:
Grade 6 $41,442 - $60,092 Annually $19.92 - $28.89

$21.00 - $23.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
