Miami, FL Job Details Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Fabrication Spanish Machine setup Engineering equipment malfunctions diagnostics English Industrial electrical systems Industrial equipment troubleshooting High school diploma or GED Mechanical drawings Dimensional measurements Production optimization Electrical maintenance Hand tools Production troubleshooting Full Job Description About the role Multi Containers USA is a growing plastics packaging manufacturer in Miami. We are hiring a hands-on Machine Mechanic to keep our Uniloy, Bekum, and PET stretch-blow lines producing reliably. The job covers mold changes, machine setups, and preventive and corrective maintenance across our blow molding, extrusion, and injection equipment. What you will do Install and change over molds, bring machines back up after each changeover, and adjust die heads on Uniloy, Bekum, and PET equipment. Start up, run, and fully shut down each machine safely, following the manufacturer's procedures. Set up extrusion blow molding and PET stretch-blow machines, fine-tuning parison profiles, temperatures, and cycle times to meet quality and output targets. Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on production machines, conveyors, and support equipment. Diagnose failures in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems, working from manuals, drawings, and engineering specifications, and by watching and listening to the machine in operation. Take equipment apart to remove and replace worn or damaged parts, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. Measure used parts with rules, calipers, and micrometers to define the dimensional corrections needed. Make mechanical adjustments with the proper hand tools, and fabricate or repair parts in the machine shop. Request spare parts when needed. Reduce downtime by showing production staff basic preventive maintenance practices and checking that they are followed. Record and hand over work performed, irregularities, and pending issues so the next shift can continue without gaps. Keep technical skills current through training, technical literature, and industry contacts. Work under LOTO and GMP safety standards and keep the work area clean and orderly. What we are looking for At least 5 years in industrial maintenance. Hands-on experience diagnosing problems in extrusion, blow molding, or injection molding processes and machinery (Uniloy, Bekum, and/or PET background strongly preferred). Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting ability. Able to handle mold changes, machine setups, alignment, and process optimization independently. Solid command of start-up, running, and shutdown sequences for blow molding, extrusion, and injection equipment. Comfortable diagnosing electrical connections and PLCs. Able to repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical breakdowns and bring equipment back to full efficiency. Familiar with downstream equipment. Able to troubleshoot plant utilities such as chillers and compressors. Reads blueprints and schematics and works with precision measuring tools. Has own basic hand tools. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus. English/Spanish bilingual is a plus. Physical requirements Lift up to 50 lbs, including molds, in a fast-paced production environment. Stand, bend, climb, and work safely around industrial machinery. Schedule Production runs 5 days a week. Rotating shifts and occasional Saturday work may be required.
