Job Description
Summit is seeking a reliable Utility Worker to support daily facility and operations needs. In this hands-on role, you'll perform general cleaning, light maintenance, material handling, and equipment checks to keep work areas safe, organized, and efficient. Duties include janitorial tasks, trash and recycling removal, basic repairs, assisting technicians, and setting up workspaces. You'll follow safety procedures, use hand tools and cleaning equipment, and respond to service requests. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, able to lift moderate loads, and comfortable working on their feet in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning of facilities, equipment, and common areas Handle trash, recycling, and basic waste management tasks Assist with light maintenance and minor repairs as directed Move, load, and unload materials, supplies, and equipment Set up and break down workspaces or event areas as needed Conduct basic equipment checks and report issues promptly Follow all safety, health, and housekeeping procedures Respond to facility service requests in a timely manner Maintain tools and cleaning equipment in good working order Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams on daily tasks Required Skills General cleaning and sanitizing procedures Basic building and equipment maintenance Safe material handling and lifting techniques Use of hand tools and basic power tools Operation of cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuums) Workplace safety and PPE practices Reading and following work orders or checklists Time management and task prioritization Basic recordkeeping or log completion Communication and teamwork in operations setting
