Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Door Technician/Installer to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities Install, repair, and troubleshoot various types of commercial doors including steel, glass, metal, and wood doors. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and building plans to ensure precise installation and compliance with specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete installations efficiently and safely. Conduct door hanging, hardware mounting, lock installation, and fixture setup with attention to detail. Perform mechanical repairs on existing doors and hardware to restore proper function. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and project specifications. Assist with remodeling projects involving metal stud framing, and other construction tasks as needed. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle. Lift heavy doors or hardware safely while adhering to proper ergonomic practices. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly. Qualifications Proven experience in door installation or related construction fields such as carpentry or remodeling. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices. Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and building codes relevant to commercial construction projects. Knowledge of glass installation techniques and hardware mounting is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at various heights on scaffolding or ladders. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members. Construction site experience including locksmithing or handyman skills is a plus. Ability to pass a Background Check and Obtain Base Clearance Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred for travel between job sites.
