Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance & Light Construction Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and appearance of our facilities through hands-on maintenance, repairs, and light construction projects. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills across a variety of trades, contributing directly to the upkeep and improvement of our facilities. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building interior systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical equipment. Repair or replace electrical equipment and wiring utilizing hand tools and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters. Carry out plumbing system maintenance including leak repairs, pipe replacements, and fixture servicing. Execute painting projects—both maintenance painting for touch-ups and residential painting for larger projects—to uphold facility aesthetics. Lead light construction tasks such as carpentry work, drywall installation, or minor structural modifications Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to internal requests for repairs or maintenance Proven Hands-on expertise with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, welding techniques, carpentry skills, and plumbing system maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting complex systems. Experience with maintenance repair operations (MRO), including inventory management of parts and tools. Supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is preferred; ability to lead small teams or oversee projects is a plus. Knowledge of building interior maintenance standards as well as residential painting techniques is desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience to handle diverse repair tasks efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively in English; good interpersonal skills to coordinate with team members and facility occupants alike.
