Pool service companies here are hiring route techs right now. Here is what the work looks like.

The job:

run a residential pool route. Vacuum and brush pools, empty skimmer and pump baskets, test and balance water chemistry, backwash filters, check pumps, motors and salt cells, log each stop in the route app, and write up repair tickets for the office. The company supplies the route truck, chemicals and tools. Monday to Friday, day shift. Year-round work; pools do not close in Florida.

Pay:

$17.00 to $22.00 an hour depending on experience, in line with what Tampa Bay pool companies are advertising this month.

What you need:

6 or more months on a pool route (residential or commercial), a valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record, the ability to lift 50 lbs, comfort working outdoors in Florida heat, and basic smartphone skills for route software. Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus, not a requirement.
