Company Overview The Sun 'N Lake of Sebring is a special improvement district (SID) established to finance essential services within the development, including infrastructure, maintenance, and landscape care. This independent government entity is dedicated to maintaining a vibrant and well-kept community environment. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and safety of outdoor spaces through landscape upkeep, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols. Your efforts will help ensure that our community remains inviting, lush, and well-maintained year-round. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning to keep outdoor areas attractive and healthy Operate ground maintenance and landscaping equipment including mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, and tree trimming tools with precision and safety in mind Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed Conduct plant identification and horticulture practices to promote healthy growth and identify pests or disease early Execute hardscape maintenance including cleaning, repairs, and seasonal snow plowing when necessary Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and injuries Assist with tree care projects such as trimming, pruning, or removal while adhering to safety standards Experience Previous outdoor work experience in groundskeeping or landscaping is highly preferred Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment operation and maintenance is advantageous Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques, plant identification, pesticide management, and irrigation systems is beneficial Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment, and snow plowing machinery safely and efficiently Strong understanding of safety procedures related to outdoor work environments Experience with gardening, tree care, hardscape upkeep, or general grounds maintenance will set candidates apart Join us in creating beautiful outdoor spaces that enhance community life!
