We are a luxury AAA Four Diamond Property located in The Villages, FL., and are seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician. We're looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician who thrives on problem-solving, takes pride in quality work, and embraces new technology with confidence. If you have a strong electrical background, solid handyman abilities, and experience with commercial kitchen and cold-side repairs, we'd love to have you on our team.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", the responsibility of this position is to support the maintenance operations of The Brownwood Hotel & Spa by assisting with a wide range of general maintenance functions. This position is also responsible for delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.
Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician , you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of our facilities. This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. General maintenance experience required and prior hospitality experience is a plus. Qualified candidates must have outstanding customer service skills to be considered for the position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing and electrical systems, painting, and carpentry work in guest rooms, public areas, and maintenance spaces. Perform maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment (both hot & cold side, including fryers, ovens, refrigeration, and dish machines). Respond to maintenance requests, or emergency calls from staff and guests in a timely manner by troubleshooting issues efficiently. Keep accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used and communicate effectively with the team. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in the implementation of preventive maintenance programs. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace cleanliness. Assist in fire/life safety system monitoring and energy conservation efforts. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel and restaurant to identify any maintenance issues and address them promptly.
Educational Experience & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Commercial Kitchen Experience Preferred. Certification in a relevant field is a plus. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role. Solid knowledge of maintenance procedures and systems, including electrical and plumbing. Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues (unclog drains, repair leaks, and maintain fixtures). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The associate is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and taste or smell. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, reasonable color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The associate occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described above are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
