Maintenance Technician Reports to:
Maintenance Manager Department:
Facilities The Maintenance Technician is a full-time position. Normal duties can include, but are not limited to, the following list of essential duties and responsibilities. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include basic carpentry, drywall work, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Coordinates and assists with the setup, breakdown, and clean-up of school events and community-use activities. Prepare classrooms for incoming classes; remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes, as needed. Basic Plumbing installation and repairs. Furniture repair and basic woodworking. Sweep, mop, and vacuum work areas as needed. Move heavy furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment as directed. Report items that need repair (doors, door locks, furniture, lights, faucets, etc.) Assists in picking up and emptying all trash and garbage containers during school lunches. May be required to work occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency hours due to weather events, facility issues, or school activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods, Safely operates all vehicles and other job-related equipment. Safely handle cleaning supplies, chemicals, and maintenance materials in accordance with safety guidelines. Working knowledge of tools, standard appliances, and devices. Notify the maintenance manager of the need for significant repairs. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Ability to work M- F from 9:00-5:30 Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license if operating school vehicles. Must pass background screening in accordance with school policies. Must have reliable transportation Working knowledge of institutional maintenance. Ability to correctly complete work orders in a reasonable and timely fashion. Must be able to safely operate or learn to safely operate basic tools and equipment used in the maintenance trade. Must be safety-conscious and aware of basic safety precautions. Must be able to lift, push, and pull various tools and equipment. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision. Ability to work within and uphold the philosophy of the institution, observe institutional regulations, and cooperate fully in the operation of the institution.
