In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our vacation homes safe, functional, clean, and guest-ready. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can quickly diagnose and repair issues with HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and general home systems. You will respond to maintenance requests, perform preventative maintenance, complete inspections between guest stays, and help ensure our properties consistently meet our high standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, traveling between properties, solving problems on the go, and taking pride in maintaining beautiful vacation homes and providing an excellent guest experience. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance at short-term vacation rental properties. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent issues that may affect guest comfort or safety. Diagnose and repair common residential issues involving HVAC systems, air conditioning, appliances, plumbing, electrical fixtures, lighting, locks, doors, windows, and other home systems. Inspect properties before and after guest stays to identify maintenance needs and potential problems. Repair and maintain appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, garbage disposals, and other household equipment. Perform basic plumbing repairs, including clogged drains, leaking faucets, toilets, water supply lines, and minor fixture replacements. Perform basic electrical repairs such as replacing switches, outlets, light fixtures, bulbs, batteries, and other non-complex components within applicable safety requirements. Troubleshoot HVAC issues, including thermostats, filters, air conditioning units, heating systems, and other common residential HVAC concerns. Complete preventative maintenance to reduce emergency service calls and extend the life of property systems and equipment. Handle general handyman tasks, including drywall repairs, painting touch-ups, furniture repairs, door and cabinet adjustments, caulking, hardware replacement, and minor carpentry. Prepare properties for incoming guests by ensuring all maintenance issues are resolved and homes are fully functional. Maintain detailed records of maintenance requests, repairs, parts used, property conditions, and follow-up needs. Use a company vehicle responsibly while traveling between vacation rental properties. Maintain an organized inventory of commonly needed tools, parts, supplies, and replacement items. Coordinate with property managers, cleaners, vendors, and other team members to ensure properties are guest-ready. Identify larger or specialized repairs that require licensed contractors and communicate those needs to management. Assist with property improvement projects, installations, renovations, and other construction-related tasks as needed. Respond professionally and courteously when interacting with guests, property owners, vendors, and team members. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC requirements. Requirements Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, service technician, or similar role. Strong hands-on knowledge of residential maintenance and repair. Experience troubleshooting and repairing appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and general home systems. Ability to diagnose problems quickly and determine whether an issue can be repaired in-house or requires a specialized contractor. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Comfortable working independently across multiple vacation rental properties. Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining properties to a high standard. Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize urgent maintenance requests. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly with property managers, guests, vendors, and team members. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical maintenance tasks as required. Availability to respond to occasional urgent or after-hours maintenance issues is a plus. HVAC certification, electrical/plumbing experience, or relevant trade certifications are a plus. Construction, remodeling, or residential property maintenance experience is a plus. Previous experience working with short-term vacation rentals, Airbnb, Vrbo, hotels, or property management companies is highly preferred.
