Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of various flooring surfaces across commercial and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning and floor care services. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a clean and healthy environment while developing valuable skills in floor maintenance and customer service. Duties Perform comprehensive floor cleaning tasks including scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and refinishing to restore and maintain the appearance of various flooring types such as tile, vinyl, carpet, and hardwood. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, polishers, steam cleaners, and carpet extractors efficiently and safely. Handle chemical agents responsibly by mixing, applying, and disposing of floor cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety protocols. Conduct manual handling of heavy equipment and materials during routine cleaning operations while adhering to proper ergonomic practices. Execute specialized floor care procedures including carpet cleaning, floor waxing, buffing, and refinishing to ensure optimal surface quality. Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and equipment; perform routine inspections and report any malfunctions or safety concerns. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to client requests and ensuring their satisfaction with the cleanliness standards. Qualifications Proven janitorial or environmental services experience with a focus on floor care is preferred. Knowledge of various cleaning techniques such as floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and carpet extraction. Familiarity with the use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, steam cleaners, and related tools. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following all safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines. Physical capability for manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or bending. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. This position is integral to maintaining the hygiene standards of our facilities through diligent cleaning practices. Pay:
$12.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 - 40.0 per weekBenefits:
