Maintenance Technician — Controls & Electrical Big Creek Foods | Gainesville, GA. | Full-Time, On-Site | $25.00 - $35.00 hr. About the Role Keep the line moving. That's the job. We're looking for a skilled, motivated Maintenance Technician with a strong controls and electrical background to keep our facility running at peak performance. If you can read a schematic, chase down a PLC fault, and get a machine back online before it dents the production schedule — we want to talk to you. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on the equipment and control systems that drive our operation. Your electrical and controls expertise will be central to keeping our processes smooth, safe, and efficient. What You'll Do Prevent problems before they start — perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and electrical systems to catch issues early. Solve them fast when they happen — troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and control-system malfunctions quickly to minimize downtime. Own the controls — install, program, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems that support production. Read the room (and the schematic) interpret technical manuals, electrical/control schematics, and blueprints to diagnose complex issues. Make things better — monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvements. Think like a team — collaborate on maintenance strategy, including scheduling, spare-parts management, and reliability initiatives. Keep it safe — follow all safety protocols and industry regulations, and help promote a safe working environment. Lift others up — help train and mentor junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and best practices. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent — technical certification or vocational training in electrical or control systems is a big plus. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician (or similar) with a strong emphasis on controls and electrical systems. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial devices. Solid troubleshooting and repair skills across electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues. Familiarity with preventive maintenance — building and executing effective maintenance plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a knack for diagnosing complex issues. Sharp attention to detail and comfort working from manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Clear communication and a team-first attitude. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including some weekends and holidays, to support production. Physical Requirements This is hands-on, on-your-feet work.You should be able to:
