Job Description

Job Goal:
To establish and maintain the highest standards of school facility care and maintenance in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for district students and staff.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of five years progressive responsible experience in plumbing, carpentry, building maintenance or related field Vocational or other formal training/certifications desirable Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
Performance Responsibilities:
Prompt and regular attendance. Provides support for plumbing installation, maintenance and repair services as required. Provides carpentry skills and support as needed to keep facilities in good state of repair to include, but not limited to, framing, door hardware, roofing, interior/exterior finishes, painting and masonry. Knowledge of tools and equipment associated with performance of duties in a safe manner. Applies other skills for which employee may be trained and/or certified. Operates equipment as may be required in the performance of duties. Provides assistance to other staff or trades as may be needed or requested. Attends trainings as available and appropriate to duties. Assists in implementing the District's goals and Strategic Plan. Demonstrates regular attendance and is punctual. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Medium Work:
Exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment:
Salary shall be paid consistent on the System's approved salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on classified evaluation.
