Job Description

# Home Repair Technician Trainee / Skilled Handyman Helper Neighborhood Handyman Atlanta Marietta, GA Job Details Full-time From $1,000 a week 1 day ago Benefits Professional development assistance Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Mechanical repair English Driver's License Driving Ability to follow instructions Handyman experience Full Job Description Neighborhood Handyman Atlanta LLC — Marietta / East Cobb, GA Neighborhood Handyman Atlanta is looking for a reliable, mechanically skilled person who wants to develop into a professional home repair technician. Professional handyman experience is preferred, but not required for the right person. We are willing to work with someone who has less professional experience if you are already comfortable working with tools, have strong mechanical ability, learn quickly and genuinely want to develop skills across multiple residential trades. This is not a general labor position. The goal is to develop the right person into a technician who can eventually complete residential service calls independently. What You'll Learn and Work On You may assist with and gradually perform: Drywall repair and patching Door and lock repairs/installations Trim and basic carpentry Faucet and toilet replacement Garbage disposals and plumbing fixtures Light fixtures and ceiling fans Switches and outlets Appliance installation TV mounting Shelving and wall-mounted items Caulking Minor exterior repairs Punch-list work General home maintenance Troubleshooting common residential problems As your skills improve, you will be given increasingly independent work. Who We're Looking For You don't need to be an expert. You do need to be someone who enjoys figuring things out, is comfortable using tools and wants to learn.
Applicants must:
Speak and communicate effectively in English Be legally authorized to work in the United States Own a reliable vehicle for traveling to customer jobs Have a valid driver's license Own basic hand and power tools Have basic hands-on repair, construction, maintenance, mechanical or similar experience Be comfortable learning new skills Be able to follow instructions and job scopes Have good problem-solving ability Have a smartphone Be reliable and punctual Maintain a clean and professional appearance Be comfortable working in customers' homes Be willing to undergo a background check Experience from construction, apartment maintenance, automotive/mechanical work, carpentry, facilities maintenance or similar hands-on work may be considered even if you have never worked professionally as a handyman. What Matters Most We are looking for someone who: Shows up when expected Takes pride in their work Doesn't need to be constantly reminded what to do Asks questions when necessary Learns from mistakes Takes care of customers' homes Keeps the work area clean Can troubleshoot instead of immediately giving up Wants to become more skilled and earn more responsibility We would rather work with someone who admits they don't know something and is willing to learn than someone who claims to know everything. Compensation & Growth Independent Contractor (1099) The initial rate will be determined after an interview and practical skills assessment. The starting rate is not based solely on years of experience; it reflects what you can safely and reliably perform today. As you demonstrate that you can complete tasks correctly, maintain quality, work efficiently and handle more responsibilities independently, your compensation can increase. The objective is not to keep the right person as a helper permanently. We want someone who wants to learn, take on increasingly independent jobs and eventually become a full home repair technician. What We Provide Real residential repair experience Opportunity to work alongside an experienced technician Exposure to multiple types of residential repairs Scheduled customer jobs Office and scheduling support CRM/work-order system Branded uniform Opportunity to progress into independent service work To Apply Please send: Résumé or short description of your work experience What type of hands-on work you have done What tools you currently own What types of repairs you can already perform without assistance What skills you would like to learn Confirmation that you own a reliable vehicle Photos of projects or repairs you have completed, if available We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term skill set and growing with the company, not someone looking only for occasional labor work.
