Job Description

River Edge Behavioral Health is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our maintenance team. 1241 Orchard Hill Road Milledgeville, GA 31061.
Schedule:
8:30 am-5:00 pm Monday - Friday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks. Performs minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of locks on cabinets, locks, closets, and desks. Repairs door hinges, cleans plugged key slots, and changes filters on ventilating, heating, and air conditioning units. Services kitchen, appliances, and emergency equipment, reporting mechanical malfunctions to the party for action. Exercises discretion to identify projects that need higher skilled crafts individual's services. Assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed; annotates and updates work logs for specific site requirements. Activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls after and during regular work hours.
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
: Ability to drive and operate State-owned motor vehicles. Safely operate State vehicles and /or construction equipment in all weather conditions. Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and oral form. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Follow orders and complete work assignments with a minimum of supervision. Apply methods, practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, renovation, and minor construction of buildings and utilities. Assist other trade personnel in their work. Observe, record, and report unsafe working conditions. Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics as they relate to buildings and utility services systems. Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
GED or high school education or some technical training experiences. A valid State of Georgia driver's license. Basic office computer skills, word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to climb ladders and work in high, precarious places up to elevations of 20 feet.
