Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Dock and Door Technician / Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial dock equipment and overhead doors. Your expertise will ensure that our clients' facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize your mechanical skills, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing top-quality service. Duties Install, repair, and maintain commercial dock levelers, dock doors, rolling steel doors, and related hardware with precision and efficiency Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical repair techniques to complete installations and repairs Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and building code requirements to ensure compliance during projects Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks such as metal stud framing, door hanging, frame carpentry, and caulking to prepare sites for installation Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly about project status, safety procedures, and maintenance needs Form, pour and finish concrete for dock pits Qualifications Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces on construction sites Knowledge of metal stud framing, carpentry skills including frame carpentry and door hanging techniques Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel to and between job sites as needed We are a drug free company so you must be able to pass a drug test Available to work Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends. Willingness to travel out of state when required Knowledge and experience in Commercial doors, construction, concrete, welding and mechanical work is a plus but not required.
