Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our maintenance team, serving Tifton GA and surrounding areas. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and making a tangible impact through their skills and dedication. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs across various building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components. Conduct inspections of facilities equipment to identify issues early and implement effective solutions. Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters to diagnose and resolve problems efficiently. Repair or replace electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior fixtures to ensure optimal operation. Carry out carpentry tasks such as maintenance painting, drywall repair, door adjustments, and other building interior maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to support facilities management operations. Collaborate with team members to coordinate large-scale repairs or upgrades while providing excellent customer service to internal clients. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment using schematics and testing devices like ohmmeters. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance. Ability to operate hand tools efficiently and safely; familiarity with power tools is a plus. Knowledge of painting techniques along with general carpentry skills for building interior maintenance projects. Excellent communication skills in English to effectively document work orders and collaborate with team members, Ability to read technical schematics and understand building systems layouts for accurate diagnostics.
